陰暗的圖書館裡漸漸地被人們遺忘了，死去了，只有在讀歷史的小學生的幻想中，它們有時暫時甦醒了片刻。卡通畫的價值，為什麼比陳列在精美展覽會博物院裡的古典的傑作偉大呢？就是因為它是屬於廣大的熱情的群眾的。它能夠把那些死去了的偉大的故事重新活生生地帶到群眾面前。一個好的歷史卡通必須使讀過歷史的與未讀過歷史的人全懂得，而且必須引起他們的興趣。將來，當卡通畫達到它藝術的頂峰的時候，現在的這種滑稽的神話式的卡通並不會消滅，可是它只能在整個的卡通界中佔著小小的一席地，聊備一格而已。

我真是高興，當我幻想到未來，連大世界、天韻樓都放映著美麗的藝術的結晶科學卡通。歷史卡通，文學卡通的時候。

也許有人會懷疑。然而，不看見電影的榜樣嗎？電影在新發明時代，不是同樣被認為是引兒童發笑的東西嗎？然而現在有些影片的嚴肅的態度卻可以做學校裡課本的補助品了，並且有些電影的藝術價值是公認為足以永垂不朽的。卡通的價值決不在電影之下。如果電影是文學的小妹妹，那麼卡通便是二十世紀女神新賜予文藝的另一個玉雪可愛的小妹妹了。我們應當用全力去培植她，給人類的藝術發達史上再添上燦爛光明的一頁。
