皇帝忍不住抬頭看了一眼紀曉嵐，沒錯這也的確是他擔心的問題，英國人來了按照自己的脾氣勢必會帶來工業革命，只是所謂的革命到底會革了什麼呢？是千百年來中國的那些殘留的腐朽還是自己的這張王位呢？

他永遠記得在自己上高中時，老師要求畫出來的那段關於工業革命的句子：資產階級革命廢除了封建制度，消除了不利於資本主義發展的種種束縛，為工業革命創造了重要的政治前提。提前用一種和平的方式引入英國人對清朝到底是好還是壞？皇帝猶豫了。

在歐洲各國轟轟烈烈工業革命的時候，大清若是不進步，那麼等待著大清的就是鴉片戰爭，但若是進步了，等待著大清的很有可能就是內戰，“英國人就如同一把劍，左右都是刀刃，紀曉嵐，朕也不知道讓他們進來到底是好還是壞。”至少……沒有經過時間的考驗，沒有後人道功過，他也沒有十足的把握，只是皇帝覺得清朝這艘大船在自己的掌握下已經逐漸偏離了未來屬於它的航道。

英吉利國王熱沃爾日敬奏中國大皇帝萬萬歲：熱沃爾日第三世，蒙天主恩英吉利國大紅毛及佛朗西依拜爾呢雅國王、海主，恭惟大皇帝萬萬歲，應該坐殿萬萬年。

The　natural　disposition　of　a　great　and　benevolent　Sovereign；　such　as　is　Your　Imperial　Majesty；　whom　Providence　has　seated　upon　a　Throne　for　the　good　of　Mankind；　is；　to　watch　over　the　peace　and　security　of　his　domini翠¤；　and　to　take　pains　for　disseminating　happiness；　virtue　and　knowledge　among　his　subjects；　extending　also　the　same　beneficence　with　all　the　peaceful　arts；　as　far　as　he　is　able；　to　the　whole　human　race。
